Quarter size prototype + dev plans

Hello all!

I've got a seems-to-be-working prototype of the quarter-size zine arranger going! I say 'seems-to-be' because the functionality is a lot more complicated than the static layout of the 8-page mini. Quarter size is a multi-sheet, front-and-back, wacky puzzle to arrange, so even though the handful of tests I've done so far have all worked properly, I'm not ready to give it my 100% confidence. Print at your own risk!!

Quarter-size mode is set up so you can cut & stack the whole zine in one go:

  1. Print it all off (double sided, flip on the long side)
  2. The side with the front cover goes face-down
  3. Cut the whole stack in half horizontally
  4. Stack the bottom half on top of the top half
  5. Staple & fold

While working on the quarter-size functionality, I realized that whenever I do 16-page (double-sided) minizine, I can do the same sort of thing as the quarter-size, and then we can support multiple sheets. So you could do 16 pages, 32 pages, 48 pages, and so on (although at some point it's gonna get hard to staple, haha!). I'm also thinking about ways to support alternate layouts (landscape vs portrait; different paper sizes; etc.).

So for the moment, my plan for the "full" first version will have Minizine, Quarter Size, and Double-sided Mini support, with options for changing your aspect ratio & paper orientation. At some point, maybe we'll throw micro-mini (1/16th of a page) in the mix as well!

I don't have a timeline for all of this--it just depends how busy I end up with other stuff.
